Sanse's Non-Metal Battery Enclosure Debuts Successfully
Sanse Group’s non-metallic power battery enclosure
garnered significant attention and recognition from Jiangling Motors Group
(JMC) and Gotion High-Tech leaders during the strategic cooperation signing
ceremony between JMC New Energy and Gotion High-Tech.
On September 29, 2024, the strategic cooperation
signing ceremony between Jiangling Motors Group New Energy and Gotion
High-Tech, along with the launch of the “Yi” model SPS (Super Pouch Solution)
battery pack, was held at Gotion High-Tech's new base in Ganzhou. The event was
attended by Liang Dingsheng, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and
Director of the Administrative Committee of Ganzhou Economic and Technological
Development Zone, Dan Fengwu, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager
of JMC New Energy, and Li Yuhua, Chairman of Gotion High-Tech.
As a pioneer in the application of composite materials
in China, Sanse Group has long been committed to researching the substitution
of metals with composite materials like SMC across various fields. The
showcased non-metallic power battery enclosure is one of the outcomes of
Sanse's years of research into replacing steel with plastics. The sample box on
display attracted significant attention from JMC and Gotion High-Tech leaders.
At the exhibition, Gotion High-Tech’s R&D
Director, Guo Weihua, provided a detailed explanation of the exhibit. He
introduced the material technology used for the lower box, which is
high-strength SMC compression molding (continuous glass fiber-reinforced sheet
molding compound), and the upper cover made with STM (glass fiber-reinforced PU
spray molding). In terms of product characteristics, the enclosure offers high
design flexibility, ease of molding, an integrated design with fewer parts, and
is lightweight yet high-strength, with excellent impact resistance and
corrosion resistance. Additionally, it features high forming efficiency, making
it suitable for industrial production. The enclosure also provides good
insulation properties, enabling superior battery performance in low
temperatures and extending vehicle range.
JMC’s General Manager, Dan Fengwu, remarked that the
successful launch of this battery enclosure, the first of its kind in the
nation, is set to mark a new chapter in the industry. He also expressed
anticipation for the mass production of this product. Gotion High-Tech's
Chairman attentively listened to the product presentation and highly commended
the design direction of Sanse’s composite material enclosure. As the saying
goes, "The road ahead is long, but we shall keep moving forward."
Sanse Group will leverage this opportunity to actively seek feedback from both
battery and vehicle manufacturers, rigorously test and validate the product,
and ultimately bring the non-metallic power battery enclosure to mass
production, providing a “l(fā)ighter, stronger, greener, and more cost-effective”
solution for new energy vehicles.
